(16,113 posts)they weren't hacked. I believe the republicans spent months arguing this very same thing in 2016.
Former FBI Director James Comey said something similar in his statement when he announced that he would not be recommending any charges in the Clinton email matter.
"With respect to potential computer intrusion by hostile actors, we did not find direct evidence that Secretary Clintons personal e-mail domain, in its various configurations since 2009, was successfully hacked. But, given the nature of the system and of the actors potentially involved, we assess that we would be unlikely to see such direct evidence."
And while you may not take the word of an anonymous "expert", I'd think Comey's word on this has some value, and his statement supports you.
