of the SEVERE CONSEQUENCES OF HAVING AN IDIOT AS THE PRESIDENT! He talks about the WONDERS of "groceries" as though he'd just discovered the HOLY GRAIL.

because this is an old folks' home, after all, and some of these olf folks are Nixon's Silent Generation and think the world hasn't changed all that much.

I tell them that Fatso told them exactly who he was and what he planned to do during his campaign and they should have listened to what he said instead of just the sound of his voice. I also mention that every economist worthy of the name said exactly what was going to happen if he actually did what he said he would and that is what is happening now. I say there is a reason we call them experts. And I say I don't want to hear any more bellyaching about how bad things are until they decide to do something about them.

I don't say I told them so, I don't say it's their own fault, and I don't exactly tell them they're getting what they voted for, no matter how true all that feels. No, they didn't vote for a shut down government, a House Speaker who collapses into a marshmallow at the sound of his mater's voice and refuses to do his job, or the prices that are going up a little now and will skyrocket over the next year. I just let them know there is something they can do about it if they think they made a mistake. Some of it might translate into more blue votes, at least I sincerely hope so.

Again......... what my grandmother often said: "He who does not listen, has to feel."

Sad but true.
