To be able to vote for him when the elections come around. I bailed on Montana, taken over by magats, and moved to Maine this summer! I'm happy to be one of the voters to give concerned susan the boot.

I like this guy, I hope Gov. Mills decides to run for something else, We need her too, she is well suited to hold more than one position so I hope there is one for her after this term.

I was thinking about you as I blasted down the throughway! I would have contacted you to maybe meet for coffee but I was on a roll and 18 hours behind schedule, because I left my wallet in a restroom in Illinois, and I didn't stop until I reached South Portland that night. It was a long haul that day as i was a little east of Cleveland at the start of the day.

Anyway, I am glad to be someplace else, someplace that is familiar as well. I spent most of my childhood here so I feel a kind of comfort I never thought I'd have. I think I'll like it here.

And kudos to you that you made that long trip! Yikes! Though I do wish that you could have stopped. BTW, did you ever get your wallet back??

Amazingly!

It's an epic tale that involved several DUers who came to my rescue when I needed them most. One DUer, at my destination location, was able to help me rent a room where I ended up that night and after I had some sleep I got a call, on my cellphone, from the manager of the gas station where I left the wallet, he had it, intact, and wanted to know what to do with it. I got up and after a hot shower it dawned on me that "DU always comes through!" I got out my laptop and sent out a call for help. That help arrived in a few minutes! I needed help taking my vehicle off the trailer so I could blast back up the Interstate, 70 miles, at the speed limit. (The truck was a massive frustration with all its computerized speed controls, would have cost me a few hours more making that trip.)

A couple Duers were there to help me with unloading and reloading my vehicle and the day was saved in SO many ways. In the end I was only 18 hours off schedule and about 50 miles off route so it wasn't the worst thing on the planet like it could have been. That all happened in central Illinois, I was only half way through my trip. I am eternally grateful to those DUers and DU for saving me from a horrible fate!

9. Wow! What a story! I'm so glad to hear that fellow DUers came through for you, though I'm not surprised

I suppose you couldn't be without your wallet for the length of time it would have taken to send it, but retracing your route must have been aggravating - and tiring!

Though, believe it or not, I heard a worse story from another DUer ages ago and it stuck with me. This DUer was also traveling and she stopped at a rest stop to use the rest room - but, horror of horrors, she somehow managed to accidentally flush her keys!!! Can you imagine?! I don't remember the outcome, but you can see why that story stuck with me - and since then I'm very aware of my keys at all times!

That would cause some brain damage! I make a habit of attaching my keys to my belt loop with a carabiner. I left my wallet on the toilet tank at the gas station, took it out of my pocket so I wouldn't drop it in. I was so tired that I washed my hands and walked out without it. Thankfully, I was the last person in there before they closed so the employee who cleaned the restroom found it.

Should have bought a lottery ticket that day but I didn't want to push my luck!

8. Bernie Sanders is going all out for Platner. Every day Bernie sends out emails to promote Platner & solicit donations.

Collins might not be able to overcome the Bernie bump because Mainers like/love Bernie.

My friend who moved to Vermont (we went to summer camp in Vermont together) is a huge Bernie supporter, she's even been to his rallies which took place on a boat on the lake. And I told my friend to let me know, since I'd love to go!
