Republican Budget Would Bankrupt Red States - The Ring of Fire

The budget proposal that is causing so much chaos among Republicans in the House right now could end up sending red states into an economic tailspin, possibly even bankruptcy. The reason this could happen is because the bill, as of now, ends most of the federal payments for SNAP and Medicaid and instead shifts those costs onto the states. The states would then either have to pay for the difference – which they don’t have the money to do – or they cut programs, resulting in worse health and wellness which then means less economic productivity.
