(4,514 posts)paid her under the table so they wouldnt have to pay the employer portion of the payroll tax. And then she didnt report her income so she could get the food stamps that her rich employers would vote to get rid of. The hypocrisy isnt surprising but its still nauseating.

(995 posts)That is why they are multi-millionaires. They don't pay their fair share of taxes and they don't pay a living wage to their employees. Of course. Everyone wants to be like them.

So, they were getting rich, and staying rich on the backs of low-income workers would be my guess.

Iisten again. As dumbass as she was, she is quite a bit smarter now. She really showed some guts to go against her upbringing and seriously do her own research, not that do my own research bullshit you hear from those ridiculous focus groups of uninformed swing voters.

(207 posts)This woman has done quite a bit of work in therapy and in her life to overcome her cultural and internalized misogyny and biases.
It does take courage to acknowledge, and in a public form, having been so deeply wrong, i.e. "I dismissed the humanity of my vote.".
I also appreciate that the interviewer goes deep with her questioning, but is kind, not accusatory.
