that he is mentally ill, that his health is failing and that he has no moral compass, but, there is one other thing that contributes to his embarrassing public appearances..

He is incredibly dumb. Overwhelmingly stupid. He has the intelligence of a 3rd grade "C" student, but not the manners or personal responsibility.

Trump couldn't pass a grade school math or history test. He might not be able to read at all. He is so dumb that he thinks he is wowing the audience with his remarks and delivery.

It's excruciating to watch even though I wish him nothing but the worst.
