Newsom calls for homeless camps to be cleared across California - NBC News



California Governor Gavin Newsom has called on local leaders to move more people off the streets and into shelters in order to ban homeless encampments across the state. NBC News' David Noriega explains the proposed plan as California continues to have the highest homeless population in the country.

misery. One person here was killed when a bulldozer ran over his tent and crushed him.

I’d like to see places where they are allowed to camp, not right on top of residential neighbourhoods, with bathrooms, laundry facilities, medical and social services, garbage collection, and security.
