Dissent is fully baked into the foundations of America. The United States was founded as a protest; a protest against British tyranny. Political dissent led to the open rebellion that created the United States. And because of that, dissent is not only recognized in Americait is cherished.
But today, dissent is being punished and checks and balances are under attack. Judge J. Michael Luttig, former federal judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, says theres no question in my mind that Trump is of the school of constitutional denialism. - Aired on 05/04/2025.

(8,405 posts)5. I watched his Congressional testimony. He chooses his words wisely, deliberately and disturbingly slowly.

(8,507 posts)6. I also watched he Jan 6 testimony to Congress.
He said later he deliberately spoke kore slowly than he usually does in order to emphasize the gravity and the importance of his testimony. Not that he ever speaks fast, but he doesn't always speak quite that slowly.
