China announces retaliatory tariffs of 84% on U.S. goods in response to trump IDIOCY

A huge number of everyday items sold in the U.S. are made in China — across all categories. Here’s a breakdown of common consumer goods that are very often manufactured in China:

🧰 Electronics
• Smartphones (e.g., many parts of the iPhone)
• Laptops & tablets (Lenovo, parts of Apple, Dell)
• Televisions (Hisense, TCL — even brands like Vizio and Samsung often source parts from China)
• Smart home devices (Wi-Fi cameras, smart bulbs, smart plugs)
• Chargers, cables, and power banks

👕 Clothing & Accessories
• T-shirts, jeans, and undergarments (for brands like Hanes, Levi’s, Fruit of the Loom)
• Shoes (Nike, Adidas, Skechers often manufacture in China or nearby)
• Hats, gloves, scarves
• Eyeglass frames and sunglasses

🍴 Household Items
• Kitchen utensils (spatulas, pots, pans, knives)
• Plates, bowls, cups
• Furniture (especially IKEA-style “flat pack” stuff)
• LED lightbulbs
• Tools and hardware (especially generic or store-brand items)

🎁 Toys & Games
• Action figures, dolls, puzzles, board games
• Stuffed animals
• RC cars, drones, etc.

Most major toy brands like Hasbro and Mattel still manufacture heavily in China.

🧴 Health & Personal Care
• Toothbrushes, razors
• Hairbrushes, combs
• Makeup tools (e.g., brushes, applicators)
• Generic over-the-counter items (thermometers, pill organizers, etc.)

📦 Miscellaneous
• Party supplies
• Holiday decorations
• Batteries (especially store brands like AmazonBasics)
• Pet toys and accessories

🏷️ Private-Label Brands

Many big American companies outsource their house brand or store-brand items (like from Walmart, Target, Amazon, Costco) to Chinese manufacturers. These include:
• Kitchen appliances
• Baby items
• Cleaning supplies
• Phone accessories

Bottom Line:
It’s nearly impossible to avoid Chinese manufacturing entirely in the U.S. marketplace. Even if something says “Assembled in USA,” many of its components were likely made in China.
