Former President Donald Trump promised to deport millions of undocumented migrants living in the U.S. if he is reelected president. NBC News’ Garrett Haake spoke with local law enforcement about the surge in personnel and resources this operation would require.

In Texas alone these deportations on this scale would bring the economy to a standstill.

To blithely talk about how many more law enforcement personnel would be required is an obscene minimization of the impact.

Virtually every fast food place would close. Houses wouldn’t be built. Roads wouldn’t be built, maintained, or improved. Roofs wouldn’t be put on or replaced. Stone and brick wouldn’t be laid. Schools would be emptied out. Homes would suddenly be vacant. Tax bases would suddenly shrink.

This concept is simple insanity.

These kinds of stories infuriate me.

Do the goddamn math people. This is arithmetic not calculus.
