Dispensaries by state?

Anyone know of a list of the “types” of dispensaries, by state?

I’ve only been to the ones in NY and MA, where you first enter the lobby, someone checked your ID, and then buzzed you into the actual store.

But a friend of mine in WA said you just walk in and browse, then they check your ID at the register when you check out.

Only interested in recreational flower, not CBD oils or anything.

1. In MO, you walk in, show an ID and they let you in.

There are two lines, medical and Recreational. Medical always get's priority, but the cashiers deal with both lines. You need to show yor ID again at the register. Once they fil your order (flower, vapes, concentrates, edibles, and/or whatever), you tip them and leave.

2. I think they all require ID before entering

If they have a website you can pre-order and upload a DL.

I went to some early ones in CO and didn't like them. The ones in AZ are great but I avoid Curaleaf because of the Russian involvement.

You might enjoy what are called "prerolls", it's flower in a paper cone with a "filter". My wife loves them because you don't get bits of pot in your mouth. We get ones called "dusties", not for beginners, very high thc level.

I have a friend in Seattle, and he just shows ID at the register. No “prescreening” lobby.

5. They are breaking the law.

If you aren’t 21 or over, you aren’t entering the building. They ask for ID, so make sure you have your photo ID out and ready. Remember, legal marijuana follows a lot of the same regulations that liquor sales do. Just like you need a driver’s license to buy a 6-pack, you need an ID to purchase a joint.

6. I checked with him

He said they do check when you go in, and then again at the register. They just don’t have a separate “buzz you in” lobby the way MA does.

9. i dont think his friend is 'bullshitting' anyone...

..ive bought legal pot in wash state for over 10 years and NEVER had to be buzzed in from a lobby. However when wash state only had med pot stores..then we had to be buzzed in..but there are no more 'just med' stores.

4. So many different state laws...

In my single experience with a dispensary in Canada, the budtender (who was also the owner) never even checked my ID.

7. In Illinois they first check your ID with a State Police oversight officer

before be allowed in.

8. wash state you just walk in...there MAY be someone at the door but usually we just flash our id

..and go about our shopping

these places dont have a lot of employees so cant just hire someone to guard the door..heck they dont even give me a bag to carry my stuff out in.

They do have to see my med card for my discount and hubby and i are gray haired so they know we are over 21 but we have our ID in hand before we enter the store. We flash our ID to the clerk behind the counter. They know us.

12. Here in Mississippi, we only have medical weed.

It's kind of crazy. I have a state medical card and I have to give that card and my driver's license to the person in the anteroom. After that, they take me into the big room where they have all the weed and edibles and tinctures and whatnot. I ask them for advice usually, and I pick out what I want. Then they take my card again and ring me up.

The crazy thing is that we have a ton of stores that sell Delta 8, 9, and 10 vapes and gummies and other products that will get you high if that's what you want to do. Those stores have been around before medical weed was legal and they don't seem to be as regulated as medical cannabis. They just need to make it simpler and let anyone of age purchase what they want. It should be the same as buying beer.
