The Substance

Saw this movie yesterday. One of the worst movies every made. In my opinion.

The story is, an older woman (50 years old) is tired of how old she looks (she didn't look old to me)
decided to use this method of injections, etc. to become younger. The deal is she is her younger self
for 7 days then automatically goes back to older self for 7 days. Repeat.

It sounded like an interesting premise, however, it was boring. And, spoiler alert, the young and
older selves are not even aware of what happened on the alternate days.

Everyone around us in the movie theatre as soon as it was over stood up and said "That's the
worst movie ever!"

I wonder what you all would think.

But it currently has an 89% Tomatometer (reviewers) and 69% Popcornmeter (audience) on Totten Tomatoes. So, it's clearly connecting with the majority of people who see it.

The studio? If that were the case then all movies would have good reviews and that certainly isn't the case. Sorry, but that's tin foil hat stuff.

I've found that if both the professional critics and audiences like a movie then it usually has something going for it. Perhaps that something is just not to your tastes, which is fine of course. That doesn't make it a bad movie, though. YMMV.

That's the only one that appealed to me when reviewing the options last week when they posted the new showings. You go see that and we can compare notes. Or maybe you don't like internet randos demanding (not suggesting, demanding) you go see a movie? Believe me, I totally get that.

Some people love him, but I'm not one of his disciples. I saw Clerks once many years ago and thought it was okay, haven't seen the sequels. The primary reason for seeing 4:30 is the nostalgia factor.

Even joker 2 not rated that good (opens Oct 3) I thought joker 2 would be blockbuster.

I just watched the trailer on YouTube. Was it not as scary as promised, or just not believable?
