Trying to read DU on an unfamiliar laptop -- how can I access settings to change view for this device ?

I remember there were separate views for desktops and phones; on this laptop the top of the page is cut off and I can't see the tabs running across the top -- including "My DU" which is where the settings are accessed. Is there a URL I could use to access these settings directly ?

mtia,

DU adapts to the size of your screen, as reported by your browser. usonian May 16 #1

Perhaps the browser or computer desktop is magnifying things in a way that doesn't get sent to DU in the requests everyone makes? (Sent out of sight when you click a link or button. )

I sometimes magnify the text (usually just to the left of the URL bar) or even the desktop (accidentally, because I don't remember how to do it) and those may push things off screen.

Just a wild guess. Things otta fit on the screen. Goid luck.

Then I tried using command-+ *repeatedly*, and suddenly I could see the tabs at the top again ! But now magnification was too great. Then I reduced the screen resolution and suddenly things looked normal again.

I don't think this laptop can be upgraded to a sufficiently recent version of OSX or any browser to make it worth doing anything further.

Thanks for the suggestion though. Honestly, my first thought was "Duh, I already tried that" but then I remembered that when DU3 was first released I experienced something similar, and tried the same "try everything" approach to figure it out. Still don't understand why, but probably not going to matter. Old laptop not gonna be useful for much.

You can type "softwareupdate -l" to see what is available four your version of MacOS.

That's an "L" lowercase.

I use Firefox mainly. It gets upgraded no matter the OS version until the OS is so old that Firefox just won't run on it. It also has more extensions available.

Some things just work poorly with older browsers.
