A birthday gift from DU to President Jimmy Carter?

Hello DUers,

Malaise has begun a thread suggesting that we, as members of Democratic Underground, present Jimmy Carter with 100 flowers for his 100th birthday, others are suggesting a gift in his honor to Habitat for Humanity.

This has been done in the past for other people who members of DU wanted to honor.

1. Flowers are nice but I think the Habitat for Humanity is more fitting IMO

Real flowers are being discouraged at hospitals in BC. When my MIL was going through brain surgery we were advised that real flowers were not allowed in ward. We had to remove the ones we brought, and take to our car. It may be different at other facilities.
