I'm invited to a very nice Christmas dinner with very nice people whom I like a lot. I'm supposed to be there by 4:00.

I don't want to get dressed, drive over there, and mingle.

I want to stay here and chill.

It's quiet. I have food and beverage.

It's my day off after working 10 hours on Monday and 8 hours yesterday.

I'll probably go, but my heart's not in it.

1. I get it. Most of the time I'd rather stay home with the cat and Netflix.

2. You can always say you think you're coming down with something, that 10 hour day would have something to do with it.

It's your day off and holiday, do what makes you happy.

3. I don't socialize much & I always feel this way, but I almost always have an enjoyable time.

Maybe put on some Christmas music while you get ready & wear something festive.

for next year when you might really appreciate the invite. You don't know. Things could change. We all evolve. I'm staying away from non family at this time in my life but I am grateful for the time in my life when I did suck it up and go out with friends even when I was too shy to. It was only a few years but it was worth it and I have happy memories of my twenties.
