yet again my partner needs prayer

Last edited Sat May 17, 2025, 03:32 AM - Edit history (2)

You may remember in March that I posted that she needed prayer due to a difficult root canal which was interacting with other problems. Well now there are even more complications piling on. The root canal is in a tooth whose roots can poke into a sinus cavity, and the endodontist managed to poke through, exposing the sinus to mouth bacteria. This in itself is not rare and generally not serious, but in her case it resulted in a persistent infection that jumps right back in every time she comes to the end of a course of antibiotics.

It also ended up aggravating an old chronic issue which, when provoked into inflammation, affects the trigeminal nerves and in bad cases can create serious dangers to major blood vessels. This could be life-threatening.

It may also be a partial explanation of her neck pain, and history of headaches on one side.

She is very frightened, and also very frustrated with a series of unhelpful doctors. Some of this crosses between specialties, and in the specialty that should have the best handle on this (ENT), they are being reluctant to take this seriously, as few of the symptoms are obvious and measurable.

She is literally preparing herself for the possibility that she could die of medical neglect. But let's not let her be neglected in prayer. I'm no believer but I am praying. I hope as many of you as possible can join me.

[UPDATE, MAY 17] The infection symptoms seem to now be staying down after the end of antibiotics, which they weren't doing before. Apparently six weeks wasn't enough time but seven weeks was? Who knows. Since there's no apparent reason for things to have gotten better at this time, she's calling it anmiracle and kind of giving the credit to prayers. I'm still worried that it hasn't been long enough to be confident she's safe.

The neck pain is also easing, due to protecting it with a brace.

She does still need minor surgery but it's non-urgent.

that may be part of quantum physics. So, keep directing good thoughts to her teeth and sinuses. Sending healing thoughts her way! Religious people call it the power of prayer, but it's just one aspect of the extraordinary power of our paranormal minds. See Your Eternal Self for a collection of such demonstrates that have been researched.

Sadly, the word "iatrogenic" comes to mind here. I hope with all the medical people working together a lasting solution ca be found.

All sorts of complications. Many courses of antibiotics. Healing was slow and a secondary fungal infection almost caused me to lose hope.

The one thing that helped, more than everything else, was using a neti pot, religiously, at least twice a day. Use salt and baking soda in the solution and boil the water for two minutes. The hotter the better. It finally went away after a few months. I can’t over recommend this.

Empathy and prayers.

I'm like the queen of root canals. Had one go wrong once in my life (have had several) and it was a mess.

Sending prayers for answers and speedy healing.

I do believe in miracles. I actually walked up a rough-hewn “path” through a little patch of forest between a local residential street and a local park, today, and everywhere I turned, I saw OODLES of little miracles. But then again, I could sit pondering a cluster of beautiful leaves and almost see God.

We’re thinking of both of you at this difficult time.
