(77,270 posts)I was pretty little so i wasn't analyzing the game or anything, but my dad liked him even though he was from the Braves and we were Cub fans.
The only thing i do remember is that a very bad Cubs team roughed him up pretty good when i was around 7 or 8. Santo and Williams had something like 3 hits each. (Billy Williams was my favorite player and my grandpa loved Santo because, italian. So remember how they did, pretty well.)
Warrren was probably having one of those days where the curve ball wasn't dancing like it usually did for him.

(77,270 posts)They got people out by throwing the ball at 10 different speeds and three different breaks. They didn't throw it past guys, but it was hard to consistently make contact. Then, pop up, grounder to 2nd, fly out to shallow center, inning over.
I thought Early Wynn was more a strike out guy. Not sure why i had that impression.
