1. Thank you Cubbies, you knocked the Dodgers out of first place in the National League West Division

The Dodgers just came off the road, losing the series against my Giants, 1 win, 2 losses.

How’s that MLB record payroll working out for you, Dodgers?

Don't underestimate the Dodgers. Hopefully the next series, against the Padres, will see the Cubs bounce back.

But you're right, hopefully the next three games against the Padres will put the Cubs right back on track. I am, as always, keeping hope alive. It's a long season.

6. The Cubs have indeed bounced back.

They won ten straight, lost three in a row, and have now won four straight. That's 14-3 in their last 17 games.

Which is pretty good.

A nice thing that's happening is that it seems different players are the heroes. Today Ian Happ hit a solo homer and a triple in the 8th, which allowed Suzuki to bring him home on a sacrifice fly right after in a 2-0 game. Yesterday Michael Busch came through with a two out, 2 rbi single. On Wednesday Matt Shaw hit a solo home run in the 8th which proved to be the difference. Tuesday Pete Crow-Armstrong hit a big 3-run homer. And so on.

but that's how you make it to the playoffs, not with one big superstar or two but with a different player making a contribution every day. In other words, with a team effort.

I've lived through some long, sad seasons with my Cubbies. Right now, I am enjoying the hell out of this!

GO CUBS GO!! Hey Chicago, what'd ya say?!
