the dreams lie as we entwine single strands of rope
a broken heart bubbles burst all dying with a wink
fabric unravels in threads unmatched buttons hung
not a sip to relieve thirst as dry eyes forget to blink
thunder clouds over heads mutter sad songs unsung
a broken heart yet enslaved immovable and bound
caught in silken spider webs the beast approaching
still seeking what was craved dreading every sound
a tide rolls in a tide ebbs the sea foam encroaching
a broken heart cannot bend it can only lie in pieces
a broken heart cannot mend as all of love it releases
