he's reacting to someone who is completely bananacrackers crazypants, like in this example!
He's 91 years old now, and still every bit as funny. I loved his appearances at Professor Proton om the Big Bang Theory.

Such an amazing straight man! He is right up there with Bud Abbott as far as straight men go.

... where he was at a "Mensa" party with odd ball hi iq eccentrics. One went around asking folks there name and then pronouncing it backwards. He asks Bob's name... Deadpan response, "Bob". A crestfallen, defeated eccentric.
