Related: About this forumPart D - anyone use AARP MedicareRx Walgreens (PDP)?
I'm considering changing my plan for next year
I've reviewed my costs on my present plan and Walgreens plan and the premiums and deductible are less. The drugs are very similar in price and can be purchased at my non-Walgreens pharmacy.
Any gotchas?

(68,138 posts)They can tell you exact price for the plan you need. For free.
They don't sell ins., so they are completely unbiased!
They often visit senior centers this time of year.
I don't have Part D. I use a Kroger discount program. Much cheaper for my needs.
Good luck!

(18,686 posts)I'll try some other pharmacies on the website to see if there is one that works for me.
Thanks

(11,930 posts)but I just bailed out of it because I can't get anything filled timely. I finally learned, while standing in line for an hour and a half the other night, that about six weeks ago the head pharmacist quit and everyone else walked out with him, and since then they haven't been able to fill any positions. So I'm moving everything to Costco until the end of the year, then to mail order the first of the year. I guess, anyway.

(18,686 posts)By any chance is that pharmacy in a grocery store whose name begins with K? There is a lot of delay and generic excuses for difficulties in meeting promises at my pharmacy here in the Charlottesville, VA area.
A four day delay in a standard antibiotic is inexcusable.

(11,930 posts)I found out they fill the Rx when you show up in person. I had my dr. call in a new Rx for a drug I've been on forever and waited a week for them to fill it. That was the night I stood in line for an hour and a half. At that point i said screw it and told the pharmacist (who was nice, but one I'd never seen there before) that I was moving all my Rxs.

I will need to pick one of these starting in July. I'm retiring!

(18,686 posts)I wanted to change my plan for prescriptions (Part D) and needed to do it back in November.
I am on Original Medicare, no HMO or PPO restrictions for me.
