On the other hand, if I knew I'd need it this long . . .

(18,686 posts)I'm off any NSAIDs (Ibuprofen) per Doctors orders now. Ibuprofen was a mainstay.
Tylenol doesn't seem to do much for me.

(11,930 posts)CBD and keeping busy for now. I know what Tylenol does to the liver and NSAIDs do to the rest of the body. Ugh. I'm hoping how soon medical marijuana becomes legal here, but with Dumbkin getting elected, it won't be very soon. Ugh.

(26,937 posts)I had a reverse total shoulder replacement earlier this year and the surgeon told me to take one of each at the same time every 6-8 hours. I was amazed at how much better the combination worked. I didn't need prescription pain meds at all.
My stomach doesn't tolerate long-term ibuprofen use, but I can take it with Tylenol occasionally when my arthritis pain is especially bad.
doc took me off ibuprofen, I didn't know that it caused water retention and could cause high BP! I was afraid of tylenol because of what it could do to your liver...found out I had to take 4000 mg a day to mess with my liver. I have fibromyalgia and 500 mg of tylenol works just fine. I order it on amazon.
