Related: About this forumThere's a 1040-SR form now, TurboTax tells me.
I had no idea until I printed out a copy of our return after e-filing. If you do your taxes by hand, Google says, the print on the forms is larger. Maybe there is some other benefit too, otherwise why would TurboTax bother to use it?

(28,112 posts)I saw the 1040-SR form and upon further review, I thought it was a joke, the fucking printing was larger for us old geezers. It did make me laugh, but what a waste of taxpayer dollars. Oh, I filled out the 1040 form with my glasses on.
question everything
(50,259 posts)Interesting story. Where could they find a hand written tax return that was in public? Why, Sanders, of course. Last year he released his previous ten years returns and the one from 2009 was hand written..

(2,868 posts)for those that no longer file 1040s to file so they can get stimulus checks direct deposited. TurboTax had a online signup for this and then they would forward to the IRS on your behalf. This way it's direct.

(50,259 posts)When I switched to TaxAct (a long story) it uses the regular size fonts and is only 2 pages.
