Medicare Savings Program

Someone at one of the senior housing facilities that I called last week told me about this program and I am spreading the word.

If your income is below the limit for your state ($1900 per month for a single in CT, e.g.), this program (administered by your state Medicaid program) will pay

your Medicare Part B premium
your deductibles and co-pays

You have to use a provider who accepts Medicaid. In CT at least, your assets such as your home do not count against you.

Here is a link to a medicare.gov page that has links to the State's websites where the info may be found.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.

Tell me more...
