I got once a year infusion of reclast and had a serious side effect which lasted an entire year.

It dropped my blood pressure very low. I keep fainting during the day.
I had to sip on Gatorade all day to prevent the dizziness and fainting.

And then I had a routine colonoscopy where my BP went to 40/20, a medical
emergency and scare the heck out of the medical team.

They had to keep me in the hospital to observe me.

Once the year had passed I was fine.

The point is about a one year infusion is that if you have a side effect you
are stuck with it for the entire year.

They had heard something like this, but couldn't remember who told them. They mentioned that if you have a reaction to a pill, you stop taking the pill. With an annual injection, you're stuck. (no pun intended!)

Glad you got better from your experience.

There was nothing I could do but wait out the year.

Yes it was just like clockwork, right around the time the year was up, my BP went back to normal.

6 months of 12-month Evenity treatments... very expensive but my insurance is covering it. I have not had a bone density test since I started so I can't attest to effectiveness. I have had no side effects (I choose to take the injections in my belly). I am very hopeful that the Evenity and extra calcium / D3 will help.

My doctor has said that some of her patients have had very good results.

Have had no side effects. Last April I had extensive back surgery which included removing old pins and replacing
with updated hardware. The surgeon was extremely pleased with the density of my spine and having fought
osteopenia for a decade I can only attribute my strong bones to the infusions. I have several forms of arthritis
and some of my meds are not good for bone health so I am grateful for the reclast. I should add that I have a very sensitive stomach so, when possible, I opt for medications that don't have to be taken orally.

I developed a rash around my torso following a Reclast infusion. Fortunately it didn't itch, but it lasted about three months. I've been on Prolia ever since and never had any side effects following injections, which I get every six months. This is also an expensive drug, but Medicare pays for it.
