Thom Hartman and the American Dream

Cross post from editorial form

The American Dream and Thom Hartmann

Thom is one of our lights in the darkness. He talks a lot about the American dream and the killing of the middle class.

But. The middle class was whites only.

Redlining. Sundown towns. Racist employment and voting rules. Separate but equal schools. Credit denials. Black farmers denied aid. GI bill for whites only.

I’m sure there are many more examples of how so many were locked out of the middle class.

I’m puzzled about Thom’s blind spot. He knows a lot of history and politics but has somehow skipped over ‘enslaved’ peoples built this country and then were kicked sideways.

And the oppression of natives. And others.

(My pet theory why t is tearing down the White House. He’s such a dna level racist he can’t stand the beauty built by dark hands.)

Thoughts?
