Police checkpoint motorist refusal (youtube)--Your opinions?

Here's a motorist who pleads the fifth when the officer asks him questions. The officers are annoyed, but let him go on in 2 minutes. How would you handle this?

The video is less than 2 minutes.

They let him go because it was obvious he was not impaired..I'm guessing and they didn't monmouth Mar 2012 #1
Interesting approach...probably only worked because he appeared sober. Atman Mar 2012 #2

I can't imagine that if he was slurring that response that they would have let him go. At that point they would have had probable cause.

I add a bit to my response which is "Officer, am I being detained or am I free to go?"

That forces the officer to make a decision about my status. If I am being detained, s/he must explain why, or let me go.
