Any recommendations for jump starting French

I can still read it a little. I had 3+ years or was it 5? I don't remember. But speaking is a problem.

1. Duolingo isn't bad, and it's free.

I've used it for another language, not sure how good their French is, but they offer pronunciation as well as vocabulary and grammar lessons.

2. I'm doing Spanish on Rosetta Stone and Duo Lingo

Rosetta has a free two week period right now.
Duo lingo is free unless you want to get rid of ads.

Babel is offering free for life at $170.
Rosetta is about $150 per year.

I am crushing on Duo Lingo. Take THAT Julia and Phillip!

either on youtube or elsewhere on the internet and immerse yourself in them.

Go with the flow. You'll learn far more than you expect, eh?

In reality I was just kidding, perhaps one DU poster suggested, listen to broadcasts that are in French, etc. Go to some Quebec online sites (in French), or perhaps some carib. islands that still speak French.

Its kind of the immersion therapy I've read about.

I do Babble. Right now I pay $13.75 quarterly. I was good for awhile, fell off recently, need to get back on track.

8. I agree...... Fly to France..... and get a S.O. that is French and does not speak english...

You'll pick it up quick. Oh and watch French soap opera's... C'est Mangnifique !

9. Netflix

If you are subscribed to Nexflix there are several great French tv shows which you can watch in French with both French or English subtitles.
For example, 10% - is a great show, pretty easy to watch even for a beginner
