I have a 1997 Mustang GT Convertible in my garage. It's a beautiful car, although quite different from the original.

Coolest thing in the world. My dad said, “Keep your grades up and we’ll talk about it when you’re 16.” I was 6 at the time.
By the time I reached 16, the Mustang was no longer the coolest car on the road.

Unfortunately it got sandwiched between 2 station wagons in 1975 and totaled it...right after a transmission overhaul.

I still remember it limping into the driveway.

It had a special plaque on the dash board with her name. She grew up with the owner of the local Ford dealership. It was a really fun car to drive. I inherited it quite a few years later. Once my mom found a car she liked it was very difficult to get her to get a new one. Her Dodge Dart was her all time favorite or at least the one she hung onto the longest. We were terrified she’d get in a gentle fender bender and the Dart would disintegrate around her.

...in the town my wife & I moved to just prior to getting married that had Mustang #6.
Sixth one off the line! Was the original buyer. He was a mechanic with his own garage so he kept it perfect, including a body restoration. (Really a repainting in the original color.)
He used to drive it in the 4th of July & Homecoming parades.
He had several classics, but this Mustang was his pride & joy.
