(18,520 posts)Great pictures!👏
Not sure why.
I did just learn if you take a picture of a bill or receipt there is a fax link at the top on the IPad. I sill have not found it. I will let the Engineer show me, but right now his whole family has Covid. Just came back from Puerto Rico.

(17,668 posts)In my reply, I gave the link in the Photography forum that has instructions, but what seems to work easily for me and others is to go to https://postimages.org select a size (or default to not resizing your image) and
1. On a computer, drag the photo to the web page, or
2. On a mobile device, click the button to pick a photo from your camera roll.
And copy the direct link
To make selecting easy, I put the photo I want to upload in the favorites album (less scrolling around) or some other new album.
And there are others.
When in doubt, ask in the photography forum. People are glad to help.

Do you know if this works if your pictures are on an Apple device and you want to post to a non-Apple device? All my photos are on my iPad and iPhone, but my laptop is a Hewlett-Packard.

(17,668 posts)Posting, to me, is sending a photo to a hosting website that gives you a link that DU uses to display the photo, or perhaps sharing it with others so you don't have to email photos to them. This is great for very large photos.
So that is what I address, and the post in the photos forum addresses.
Now, as for sharing with your computer, I go Apple to Apple, so that's the Image Capture app and a cable or AirDrop. But with Windows, what I have done in the past to help friends is to buy them a copy of PhotoSync app (not expensive but the appstore won't show me the price of something I already bought.). The desktop companion app is free (Mac/Win10) and it transfers between everything. Windows, Mac, iPad/iPhone, Android.
Not a sales pitch. It just works for me when I need to transfer between different makes.
There may be others.
However, I regularly post pix to DU from the phone, ipad and desktop using one of those web-based photo hosts all the time.
You can put iphone photos in icloud (limited space is free) and access them via logging into iCloud over the web, on anything, if you enabled web access to photos in your iCloud settings. There is an "iCloud for Windows" but I have no experience with it.

(26,686 posts)...quite involved.
I tell people that, when it comes to computer technology, I've made it out of the Stone Age, but may never get to the Renaissance.

(17,668 posts)If all you want to do is transfer from phone/ipad to windows, that will narrow things down, though I haven't helped anyone do that in a while.
If not a lot of photos, save them to icloud and log into icloud.com on your computer's browser to access them. Free for 5GB.
I used to do computer support, so I needed to know lots of ways to get things done, all different.
Some people put all their phtos with a host so they can share with friends and even on DU. They are mentioned in the "classic" how-to post.

(10,545 posts)I will fiddle with this method and see if I have better luck. I had pictures from a protest to share a couple of weeks ago. Just things here and there.

(27,695 posts)Our St. Bernard, Hoss Von Image, was 250 pounds of pure sweetness. He gained a pound a day until he achieved that milestone. We were so blessed to have him for almost eleven years.
Enjoy the epic slobbering. You'll miss it when it's gone.

(501 posts)My girl and I got kicked out of obedience training but she was the sweetest pup you've ever met so there was no shortage of happiness.
She always got so excited she'd howl nonstop.
Hope Curtiss can find redemption.
