Related: About this forumMy cat Silver had her first mouse encounter. She was thumping around behind my entertainment center long enough for me
to get up and see what she was up to, and it was a little mouse. I freaked out at first until I saw she had that thing bottle up like a sheep dog. It wasn't going anywhere. It only had to make it across about eight feet of carpet, and it would have been gone! I would have probably had to get some mouse traps. Too many places to hide.
I had time to get my shoes on, grab a box and dustpan and get in position. After a few misses she flushed him out and I scooped him up. I released him outside in the shrubs.

(5,589 posts)I saw signs of mice in one of my apartments and left the pantry door open - never saw any more signs or a dead mouse, either!

(15,359 posts)storm. I don't get mice. No doubt that one ended up being ran out of its home and blundered into my stairwell. I'm on the lower level and it must have squirmed under the screen door.

(5,534 posts)Let the cats corral the mouse (in our case, a little field mouse) and then pick up the mouse with some paper towels are something, and release him into the back 40. Meanwhile, the cats are staging a revolt because we took away their "toy"...!
