Just in case, though, animals don't look at the sun in general. Safety issues are more about excitement/anxiety from their humans.

but most just go into "nighttime" or nap mode. Livestock not on pasture continuously might go back to the barn early.

Now earthquakes are a different matter. Many/most pet and domesticated animals will react.
