my husbands bowl of oatmeal. He sits on the kitchen island while my husband is eating the oatmeal, and he can tell when its almost gone because the sound of the spoon scraping against the bottom of the bowl gets louder as the amount of oatmeal in the bowl gets smaller.
He inches closer and closer as the sound gets ever louder.

(20,679 posts)There's milk in there, right? So of course they're drawn to it!
I hope neither of them are lactose intolerant. We had a lactose intolerant cat, Ruffles, years ago. He loved milk and anything made from it (ice cream! ), but we had to keep all that stuff away from him. Any time we slipped up, he let us know about it afterwards with a bout of extreme smelly cat farts!

(27,544 posts)They also love the Neufchatel cheese I put on toasted bagels. I don't dare turn my back or they will make off with the whole thing.
The other day I left some runny yolk on the plate and Carys speed licked that up. I figure that food is proving to be the thing that draws her in close enough for any real interaction so I'll indulge her. I just toasted some banana blueberry bread. She LOVES licking up those crumbs.
Thanks for the info, though!
