In his pack Four other goldens five including my golden chonk the one golden was born same year same day as my chonk different momma. Two Labrador retriever brothers eighteen months and i tell you after thirteen years with the Boog the chocolate lab. The two lab bros you can tell by their eyes that their elevator is stuck in the basement.
Then a basset hound
One wiener dog who is a hoot hes always smiling when you see him.
Then the leader of the drool crew and humping bum sniffers a beautiful Border collie Aussie mix smart as all and she runs the kennel in that group.
So dude will come home wet from slobbers possibly dirty from digging new best holes yet happy and exhausted.
Im glad we have this play camp.

I know what you mean when you say "you can tell by their eyes that their elevator is stuck in the basement."
But those Labradors often make brilliant emotional support and guide dogs for the blind.
So treat them kindly.

(20,687 posts)That's what those herding breeds do sometimes: try to herd anybody else in the vicinity.
My daughter and I witnessed this phenomenon at Petsmart one day. They run a doggie day care with a big window you can watch the dogs through. There was this one collie (not a border collie, a "Lassie" type rough collie) that was trying to herd the other doggos, and they were all totally ignoring him/her. It was pretty darned funny, although I couldn't help feeling a little sorry for that frustrated collie.
