We had to put our cat, Sharkie, to sleep on Monday (6/19/23). He had mouth cancer and was 15+ years old. We was our light and joy. He was with was for over 10 years. We love him so much. It is still very raw for us. We miss our special kitty. I wanted people to know he existed.

(1,872 posts)10% of cats over 10 years old die of mouth cancer. I've had three of them in the past 4 years.
It always hurts when you lose a cat or dog. Since I take care of 18+ cats every day, I lose a few each year. The indoor cats hurt the most.
It always feels good when you immortalize them by putting it out on the internet. I lost my daughter ten years ago and was in a daze for 6 months until I put out a YouTube and then I felt better as a part of her will always be out there.
Sorry to hear your bad news but remember, there is always another kitty out there who needs your love.

(26,317 posts)I'm so sorry. We had to put our beloved dog Jagger to sleep a couple weeks ago after a brief illness that cruelly took him down with rapidity.
We only had Jagger for 5 years.
Please accept my heartfelt condolences.

Unable to accept its awful gaps, we still would live no other way.

(20,687 posts)He was a very handsome boy and obviously precious to you. I know how hard it is to lose a fur baby who has been a much loved member of your family for so long. I hope you can take comfort in the knowledge that you did the very best thing for him by ending his suffering. May he live forever in your ❤!

(7,757 posts)The link above is a tender cartoon about a cat.
I found it comforting when we put our cat asleep last month at 16 years old.
If anyone can post the cartoon image, please do so. Thanks.

(5,558 posts)the mouth cancer is so horrible; I lost my Meanie cat to this over a year ago (she was very sweet). It was sad to see her wither away; sad so sad to say goodbye.❤️😿 I adopted her during the first days of covid lockdown, from a shelter where she was dumped with her sister. I guessed it was a clean-up after her owner passed away. She only lived with me over a year before the mouth cancer started. i am so sorry for your baby's passing.

Sorry for your loss of your tuxies Willie and Noodle, tuxies are the best.
