(27,547 posts)Freya has a new canine brother. She is still Queen of the House. I really think she is the feistiest of any of the kittens I've rescued.

(25,259 posts)Just had a "be on alert" period here. The power went off for about 20 minutes. Happens sometimes here if there is an accident that disrupts power lines.
I have only 2 windows, one in the bedroom and one in the living room. So the kitchen and bathroom were pitch black. I lit several candles but Ember likes to hit candle flames so I had to watch her carefully until the power came back on. I was afraid that she would knock one of them to the floor and burn us down.
But she spent most of the time pacing and patrolling the rooms. She is used to having the radio on as background sound and the kitchen light on to brighten that area. So, typical feline, a change in environment bothered her. She calmed down when I turned on a battery radio. I kept thinking, "What's your problem? You can see in the dark. I can't."

(16,356 posts)Forgot how small they were. Same with my cat I have now. She was so tiny and weighed next to nothing.
