Since its founding in 2006, nonprofit rescue group Chesapeake Cats and Dogs has helped more than 2,000 cats and dogs from Queen Annes, Anne Arundel, Talbot and Caroline counties find new homes.
And now, one wolf.
But volunteers didnt know they had a wolf (or possibly a hybrid wolf dog) on their hands until they posted a photo of 8-month-old Anubis on Facebook. They asked if anyone wanted to adopt a shy and skittish Alaskan malamute/German shepherd mix.
To which several astute Facebook commenters responded, That is not a dog, thats a wolf.

(96,884 posts)That's definitely got a lot of wolf in it. I know a wolf face, probably has loin legs and big feet too.

(4,866 posts)The Wolf Sanctuary of PA is an excellent facility. I have a friend who volunteers there. Its worth a tour if youre near Lancaster County.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
