KC began his day indoors relaxing in the morning sunshine.
He decided to go out to and off of the front porch.
Whereupon the dog found him.
KC took off for the back yard. Shadow pursued and loomed over him.
But KC leaped up and sprinted for his safe place under the back porch.
KC may have noticed Maddie eating breakfast
because all of a sudden he re-appeared in her paddock racing down the fence line.
Maddie might have noticed a change in the atmosphere of her pen
as KittyCat slammed on the brakes, did a U-turn and powered back up the fence line
Galloping all the way.*
Then just as he was angling to slip beneath the gate
Maddie looked up as if to exclaim "I Tawt I Taw a Puddy Tat!"
Thus everything and everyone returned to normal as the beautiful fall day resumed.
* "Yes, cats can gallop, but their galloping differs from a horse's, featuring a three-beat gait where the spine arches and the front legs hit the ground before the back legs. This is a normal part of a cat's movement, often seen when they are playing, releasing pent-up energy (known as the zoomies), or exhibiting hunting behavior."
