facing flower box. Bougainvillea does pretty well in full sun. Impatiens. Ask your local nursery people. Have fun!

things in our garden here in N. GA that is holding up in the high heat, no rain we've been having since the 1st of June. It comes in many colors and 2 sizes--short or tall.

you've left alot out of your query. Is the planter deep, shallow, which drection does it face, what was in it and is in it now and most importantly, what zone are you in. Florida has a few of them.

I'd reccommend OKRA, Lantana, any philodendren, a few bush crepe myrtles, potatos for ground cover and maybe a FrangiPangi.
Not being snarky but as the rest of the country goes to harvest we get going on our second planting
