Later today I am planning on making breakfast tacos-scrambled egg, avocado, tomato and salsa with corn tortillas, half a grapefruit and a pot of hot tea.

3. Black coffee and muffin

Coffee with a buttered, toasted whole wheat English muffin.

Ducky got up and joined me as soon as I sat down with the muffin. As soon as he had his traditional last bite of each half, he left and went back to bed. I had no other interaction with him. I feel used.

It is in the upper twenties here with a promise of upper fifties today. There is still a good bit of snow cover on the ground that isn't facing south. I'm still dealing with the snowcrete, shoveling it into a wheelbarrow to return the gravel in it to the drive.

4. Last summer we had a road construction crew

working on a nearby state highway. My neighbor was working for this outfit, and had numerous truck loads of asphalt millings dumped at his house. He called me, and said if I wanted any of it to come over and get it. I drove my little John Deere tractor back and forth with bucket loads of blacktop millings. I had my driveway looking great. This last snow, another neighbor saw my driveway, and plowed me out with a big tractor. Now I have blacktop milling everywhere but where it should be. I have a lot of work in front of me to put it all back. Still February, so I think I'll wait in case it snows again.

6. Unfortunately the snowcrete is blocking the drainage where we park and walk to the house.

In general I am a firm believer of not doing today what you can do (much) later. In this case I need to do it sooner rather than later. We have rain forecast for tomorrow.

10. Maybe Ducky will be a good friend and sit and watch you while you work. 🤗❄️🌨️

8. I feel used.

The nerve of that Ducky to be so cat-like.

At least cats train us to feel used. It’s a feature, not a benefit. 😼

Sometimes, though, they will sit there smacking their lips before walking off with their tail in the air, which is cat body language for “I’m happy.“

9. It is obvious that I am well trained

Ducky seems to have many feline traits.

Repeat in and out door requests only seconds apart.
He handles toys with his paws often as if playing soccer.
A laser drives him insane and we don't use one in is presence any more.
Often complete indifference to being called by his name.

Perhaps Ducky is your reincarnated cat.

Perhaps they are present, whispering in his ear and influencing his behavior.

I went out and got my sweetheart salt bagel. Added smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers and onion. Our favorites!
