Is there a difference between Pad Thai

and peanut butter chicken?

I wanted to have something different and got a Pad Thai kit, and a jar of Pad Thai paste. I have made Chinese buffet style peanut butter chicken and I have the ingredients I usually use in that. I looked at the directions on the kit, and except for scrambling an egg to mix in, it seems a lot like peanut butter chicken.

I've had home-cooked Chinese a couple of times, a long time ago. I mostly get Chinese food from a buffet. I'm not sure what I'm going to prepare, but I appreciate any tips before I get started.

Thank you!

I made it from scratch a couple times. What I think makes a good pad thai is making sure the noodles are not too wet with water before you mix them in the sauce. The crushed peanuts are a must, as well as, cilantro and bean sprouts. The lime juice is a must and I think the carrots are what makes it so sweet. That sounds so good!

There are two Pad Thai. Authentic and Americanized.
The original recipe used crushed peanuts as a garnish. The Americanized recipe uses peanuts and peanut butter as a main ingredient.

I made peanut butter chicken, which I make pretty often. Chicken, vegetables, peanut butter, soy sauce, pepper, and red pepper flakes. I'll look at the video you sent.
