Mega-salad using bits of chicken from the balsamic chicken I made yesterday. The usual vegetables: cherry tomatoes, peppers, scallions, celery, avocado, and a mixture of spinach and red tip lettuce. Creamy balsamic to go over the salad.
I also had success with my homemade bagel chips, so I will have those for crunch on the side. I used my favorite bagels to make them: cheddar jalapeno. They were fun to make: I used my air fryer for some and the skillet for others. Conclusion is that air fryer is the way to go. Way better than the over seasoned packages from the store. I used an Everything Bagel shaker on a few of them, but it really wasn't necessary because of the jalapeno and cheddar.
Peach ginger kombucha.
Dessert: cherry cream cheese filled brownie and decaf coffee with half 'n half.

Doctored up frozen pizza in the oven for dinner.

(40,059 posts)It makes such a difference, even when you water regularly and thoroughly. Everything is soaked here and does it ever make a difference in how the landscape and gadens look.
Very lush, however, I can't go out and work in it because everything is soaked. If you brush up againts a branch, water will fall off and soak you. If you try to walk the garden paths, you will sink in, even with woodchips on them.
It's driving me crazy to see the rain inducing the weeds to go berserk and I can't get out there and fight it unless I want to get wet doing it.

(34,583 posts)We need a lot more than that, but that little bit of rain helps. We had 75 mph wind gusts with the rain. I'm half afraid to walk down to the garden this morning. Hopefully the wind and rain didn't shred the young plants.

(1,132 posts)Son and I went grocery shopping last night. I was hoping to stock up on Arizona Rx Energy drinkswhich have become hard to find (dont especially care for the other flavours). Then we stumbled into the beer aisle and found Publix was tempting us with HARD Arizona12-packs, BOGO for $16 total and 5% alcohol
Im still not sold on the choice of flavours but I suspect after one (lemon), I will forget about actual nutrition tonight. Probably should have just cracked open the Laphraoig instead.
Its been a WEEK at work and this seems like the appropriate FU for the weekend.

(773 posts)The kind with cubed meat, and I added mushrooms. Fried zucchini on the side.
I wish I had a bottle of Laphraoig. I love that stuff, although I've only had the basic level. I can barely afford that once in a blue moon, but I look at the more premium bottles at the store and dream.
DH says it tastes like bandaids. That's ok; more for me. Oh, hell, I'm going to go have a gin and tonic.
