What's for Dinner, Fri., Dec. 15, 2023

Palak paneer. Most everybody knows this but it's spinach with cheese cubes. The cheese is from India, not a cheese like from here.

Later tonight I'll have tossed green salad with avocado-cilantro dressing. Cucumbers, red onion, yellow pepper.

Dessert: vanilla-chocolate sandwich and decaf coffee.

1. I have from scratch chicken soup bubbling away

Later some of that with buttered bread, decafe tea.

2. Taking off to town here in a little bit to get a gas station pizza

at Casey's. Getting a large supreme.

3. Beef Stew

from a pouch. But I did make fresh corn tortillas with herbs as the bread to go with it.
Coffee and hard butterscotch candies for dessert.

4. chicken piccata with linguini, and a green salad

K and I both like it, so it's been in the dinner rotation lately. I buy chicken breast cutlets already sliced and sous vide them for two in vacuum bags that keep all week in the fridge. I can do dinner pretty fast with the precooked chicken cutlets, just giving them a quick sear and making a pan sauce.

5. Home made pizza made with fresh dough, sauce, mushrooms, peppers and many cheeses.

6. Veg Navy bean soup, Parmesan-celery salad, bread and butter, orange and grapes.

7. Pizza Friday

Homemade pizza with mushrooms and pepperoni tonight. It’s been a Friday night staple here for years, but this is probably the last week for it because my son is moving out and I won’t be making pizza for just myself.

8. Leftovers from lunch at The Tuckaway Tavern

A got a Shrimp and Lobster in a Scampi Sauce on a porterhouse steak
I got a burger as it was their speciality, and we brought home 2/3rds of it all

We were to full from that, so tiny bowls of the accessories, mine was a bit of poutine and his Mac and cheese.

Now, a bite of fudge from Calef’s Country Store.
