I might be able to have sustained weight loss

from more rice and beans.

Nothing fills me up like a half-cup each of brown rice and any cooked beans (black, pink, etc.)

It has lots of fiber and and some protein. Tonight's dinner was chicken, brussel sprouts and brown rice with chickpeas. Sometimes I use black beans or red kidney beans. It's easy to make up a batch of each at the beginning of the week, and add some to meals over the next few days.

One of the things I picked up from "the Four Hour Body" book, in many ways a dumb crash diet but it is true: incorporating beans in your diet every day keeps your blood sugar steady and your stomach full like no other food, plus all the fiber keeps you regular if you are skipping bread, cereal, etc.

Of course I would have blown that advice off except for one thing: I LOVE BEANS!! They are cheap and delish.
