(10,345 posts)Getting pretty convinced that no relationship is real.
And it's probably because I dealt with a fair share of negativity today.
And was laughed at for it. And they're probably still laughing.

(11,746 posts)Go for a walk. If you work out, do your work out. Get out in the sun.
Take care of yourself, retrowire. It's no joke.

(10,345 posts)And I'm at work on a rainy day.
Those would help but not at the moment.
But just hearing back from others is helping.

(12,143 posts)I read through the thread earlier today and decided to keep out of it since it was getting pretty heated.
Adding, I thought you handled it really well.
retrowire
(10,345 posts)I feel so exhausted. And there were many threads I was engaged in today. Which one are you referring to?

(12,143 posts)I read all the way through and thought you held your own very well. It was one of the first threads I read this morning. It's refreshing to touch base with some sanity once in awhile. DU's been kinda crazy lately. It's the first thing I check in the a.m., then (obviously) several times during the day, too
retrowire
(10,345 posts)Funny though because I did most of my screaming in that thread. Sanity indeed lol!
Glad to hear it though.

Please pace yourself, all of us need to pace ourselves.

(1,865 posts)Thought I'd lose my dang Mind today, dealing with trumper-boss & his bunch.
But.. we made it!

Happy YOU reached out to DUers, when You needed "back up"!

(10,345 posts)Sorry your boss is a trumper. Mine is anti Trump but he's still a jerk.

*puzzled*
Hope you're doing better.

(37,461 posts)I wasn't trying to be unpleasant. I was just curious. Have a good day, my friend

(10,345 posts)Does the type of Dr make a difference?
steve2470
(37,461 posts)I recommend a psychiatrist (if at all possible). They are the specialists in mental health, but if a knowledgeable family practice doctor or nurse practitioner does it, that's cool too. I'm just glad you have them

(19,506 posts)-Turn off the news and watch movies, sports, sitcoms, nature or science shows
- Hang out in the DU lounge to stay close to your community
- Go to Ebay and search your favorite toys from when you were really little
- Sometimes it helps me to seek out humor. Read The Onion or 27b/6 (written by a guy who brilliantly trolls any idiot who jerks his chain).
- Go out and browse in a place you like to browse: library, bookstore, dollar store, mall, anywhere where you can wander around and look at stuff you like to look at. (Museums are great, but not everyone has one near.)
- Organize something easy at home (a couple of drawers, not a major closet.) It helps me sometimes to impose order on something I actually can control. I also feel that I accomplished something because I did.
- stay close to family or friends.
I hope you feel better soon.

(23,863 posts)Someone you can talk to? Any kind of support system?
My meds were prescribed years ago while I was still in CA, by a psychiatrist. MY GP here refills them. Its a chemical imbalance. Mostly genetic, some environmental. Nothing to be ashamed of, or embarrassed.
Its ok. Get help. Please.
