Anybody have ear ringing?
I'm having a lot more due to my jaw being pushed back into my ear area. I'm struggling emotionally with that.
Anyone recommend anything? The pharmacist said lipo-flavonids didn't really work.
TIA

(4,723 posts)An unfortunate hazard of my former job. Ive never found anything that actually stops it, but I can ignore it most of the time. If yours changes when you move your head or jaw around, there are exercises that can help in some cases. Check with your doctor.

(593 posts)I have labyrinthitis. I am constantly dizzy and have tinnitus.
There is no cure for it. I have learned how to move carefully so I dont fall but the tinnitus remains.
Life has a way. Hopefully if as your jaw heals, the swelling will go down and help your tinnitus go away.

(593 posts)way back who went through TMJ, I know it hurts super bad. She got down to just using a straw to get nourishment for awhile. It did get better. Wishing you the best.

(854 posts)I have tmj and grinding issues. Last week I had a severe cold, sick in bed for a week. My ears started ringing. So, the virus, the grinding, the cold? Called Dr. and over the phone she diagnosed inflammation from the cold as the cause. She told me to use Flonase nasal spray. So, the ringing has stopped so far. I hope that is it. The ringing really made me anxious. I hope yours clears up soon!

(5,534 posts)and I swear, he's tried just about everything you can try. We both still have it. He says his sounds like ringing; I think mine sounds like the constant chirp of crickets. I try to push mine, mentally, into a white noise kind of thing. Doesn't hurt when I'm focused in on working, like coding or something... in fact, it's kind of helpful in those situations. It is a pain in the butt when I try to go to sleep, tho!

I wish I had an idea about it. I just ignore it. Of course, I have been practicing this for over 55 years.
