Like Kozar, I may be gone for a few days.
I am having fluid drained from my lung. I am scared because there are complications. I have a blood clot on my lung. I will be having lovorox injections for three days before the procedure. The last time they drained my lung, I was in the hospital for three days, on antibiotics to prevent pneumonia. I went home with a lot of anti-pneumonia pills.
I also have two compression fractures which are very painful.
I don't know why the draining of my lung is so important at this time. I don't understand everything that is going on and I am afraid.
I hope to see you soon. I hope I am not dying. I am a lung cancer survivor.

(40,453 posts)If you get the chance, and want to prevent any future possible infections I highly recommend chopped whole Oregano tea, which does what the oil does but without being hard on one's liver. Here's a 1-minute vid using Mexican oregano but any oregano will do.
Until you're back home, I hope your medical people treat you well so you're better.

(31,936 posts)It was not that long ago. The hospital that performed it has yet to send the records to my new pulmonologist. I am freaking out about that, too. I know that draining fluid from the lung is not usually major. But I don't know if it is usually done when there is a blood clot present. I would like to live a few more years.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
