(19,623 posts)Do not have Celliac disease.
When I have eaten anything with wheat, soy, or corn based, I get awful pain in my bowels, gas bloating, funny noises, as well as the runs. It is like I fill up with air like a balloon and then slowly and noisily deflate. Not fun.
I have had to eliminate major carbs from my diet. It has been a year now and I feel loads better, and even lost more weight.

(19,623 posts)I simply avoid wheat, soy, corn based products, as well as oats. Malt and Barley do not bother me so much.
Once and a while, I have some popcorn. Just once in a while. It is more for the fiber. As a result, I have lost more excess body fat. My weight ranges between 148 to 152. During the Spring, Summer, and Fall, I am walking more than 100 miles a month.
I eat Lean protiens, low Glycemic veggies, low sugared fruits, healthy fats. I started eating this way a year ago and feel and look my best. I do eat Brown Rice a d Brown Rice pasta on ocassion. I read labels regarding Sugar and Carb count. My husband is a Type II Diabetic and has to watch his carbs.
I am Lactose intolerant. So I take a certain Calcium supplement from my Chiropractor daughter to make sure I get my Calcium.
