Related: About this forumHas anyone here ever had lung surgery,
"lobectomy" to be precise, for a small, malignant nodule on their lung?...I'm a week into recovering from the procedure and would be interested in 'comparing notes', as it were.

(24,694 posts)I have metastatic endometrial cancer that spread to my lungs, but I'm told it's pervasive and inoperable, so I'm going through chemo a second time. It will spread again, so I'm just trying to extend my life a little longer if I can.
Hopefully, if your nodule was small, if they caught it early, and if they got it all, you have a good prognosis and lots of life ahead of you! Meanwhile, take care of yourself and let others take care of you, too. There are many good resources out there!

(30,201 posts)I'm doing pretty well, I guess. My nodule was small (2.8 cm) and they found no metastasis,
but how are you? I've read some of your posts here, but wasn't sure where you were in your journey..You say you're undergoing chemo for a second time, but that 'it will spread again'..Is this a certainty? I hope not, Sparkly, but if so, I hope you're surrounded by as much life and love as you radiate to others..Just the way you've reached out to me here shows your beautiful heart.

(506 posts)For a biopsy of thyroid metastasis.
One night in the hospital post surgery. One night in a hotel, then a long drive home and rest.
She felt beat up, but powered through.
Biopsy results were delayed (classic communication breakdown) but eventually not too bad.
Scar is almost gone. Now on 6 month checkups. Asymptomatic (except the worry, anxiety, unknowing) so far.

(30,201 posts)thanks for responding...Sounds like your wife had her lung resectioned for the purposes of a biopsy (Glad to hear she's asymptomatic, by the way). I had this as well, but my biopsy showed a small (2.8 cm) malignant nodule in my lung, so I needed to get it removed, which I did...In my case, they were looking for metastasis to lympth nodes and found none, which is good, so I will, like your wife, be put on 6 month checkups, no further treatment needed as of now..That said, I can definitely relate to the description of your wife's situation as "feeling beat up, but powering through" -- It is, in my opinion, a long and difficult recovery.
...Thanks again for weighing in.
