Related: About this forumJust read there are promising results from dandelion root to kill cancer cells.
Something you might want to google.
In Europe, they are finding good results in the lab animals, and are planning on doing human trials.
Seems effective for many cancers but NOT breast cancer, in fact may increase estrogen, which we do not want in most breast cancers.
The good news is that dandelion root is ever so cheaply available as capsules in the health food stores
( My personal favorite way of buying vitamins and supplements is iherb.com)

(5,527 posts)A friend sent me a link suggesting dandelion tea several months ago. If it's effective for a particular cancer, who knows at what dosage. But I'm glad there is research in the pipeline because it's tough to get any research done on a natural product. If Big Pharma can't patent it, it usually doesn't happen.

(60,040 posts)It is an effective and well known diuretic, plus many other uses.
I am saddened that we only trust what Big Pharma chooses to make available and distrust what Mother Nature provides
It is known.

(5,527 posts)a panoply of things, many of which are deadly to humans, so I don't assess things based on if they're natural or not. What is criminal, is that in a wealthy country, we don't fund more research on natural products. But then, we get into political issues on the role of government and how funds are allocated.
For my cancer, I had many questions that couldn't be answered because the research needed is not in the interest of Big Pharma, regardless of how many lives it could save. Understandable, they are profit-driven, but again political issue. I don't believe health care should be in the profit sector, but it is, and these are some of the sad results.
